T{H}E DESIGN ATELIER is the retrospective that brings together a selection of the industrial works developed by Jose Manuel Ferrero and his team.
Ferrero opens the doors of a neat, tidy workshop where he supervises the work of a group of master craftsmen who discover to the visitors the designer’s complex work. The idea of the exhibition is to discover the creative process behind each of his designs and to do so, he unveils each of them until he gets to the essence.
On the one hand, his great passion for tailoring is applied with rigorous during the industrial processes of each collaboration. He is also a great storyteller, because behind all his pieces there is a specific inspiration that shapes his designs.
Our first collaboration with Ferrero was Tea, a seating programme inspired by tea time in which the unique hexagonal upholstery takes centre stage.
Magnum borrows the silhouette of cognac glasses to shape a family of armchairs, chairs and stools.
Finally, the Casta chair was inspired by the castanets so well known in Spanish folklore. A conceptual project that is part of Sancal’s history.
To celebrate the seriousness of turning 20, the Valencian studio introduces an ingenious and fresh exhibition in which different nuances of green, the corporate colour since its beginnings, paints the different and varied works developed during his career.
Happy Birthday!
