Back to the 70’s. Now in Habitat!

A Fiesta with friends!

As we did in Milan, our stand at Habitat Valencia was an emotive homage to Sancal’s 50 anniversary.

In this sense, we created 4 scenographies set in the 70’s, an eclectic decade in terms of interior design whose common element was creative freedom.

From Estudio Sancal we conceived an exhibition space in which disparate styles, event opposite, like glam, boho or the formal psychedelia… coexisted. Bold, saturated colours. Expressive prints, infinite patterns and touchy textures. Round, organic shapes…

These theatrical settings have served as a backdrop to showcase the firm’s designs. In addition to the most iconic pieces, we presented new and stimulating products. The most recent of these is Bold, an impressive coffee table that combines organic shapes with elementary geometries. The distinctive links poufs of the Link design are now dressed and undressed thanks to a new removable cover with a unique draped upholstery. The Body chair is now fully upholstered and there is also  there is a brand-new cantilever base which becomes the most seventies version of the family. The graphic Totem stool is reduced in size to a flirty stool. Our beloved Tonella, inspired by the vanity chair of our origins, presents its Maxi version.

A commitment to sustainability.

Our stand at Habitat was an almost exact replica of the Salone, as our aim was to build an ephemeral space in which all the elements, such as curtains and carpets, would be reused at another time and place. In addition, we left the trade fair floor in view, reducing the waste that is generated in this type of event.

El Tenderete and Fiesta.

El Tenderete, (the market stall) was installed in the central area of our stand. The products on display were dressed with the new colourways for Fiesta.

The textile designed together with Byborre celebrate our 50th anniversary.  Fiesta Día (Day) and Fiesta Noche (Night), black and white textures; were seen for the first time in Habitat to dress Tonella, Tortuga, Remnant, Body, Totem, Next Stop and Link.

We have chosen the infallible black and white duo because they share elegance and timelessness.

In addition, this fabric will be available to upholster all the products in Sancal’s catalogue. The oversized pattern means that the fabrics will never be cut in exactly the same way leading to unique products.

The exhibition display created by Marc Morro is a tribute to the humble workshop where Sancal started. A simple system that allows it to be reconfigured and reused at any other time and in any space. Click here if you want to know more about this project.
