What do an old silk warehouse, an art fair and a geometric stand have in common?
The professional community is opening the doors of its studios, cultural centres are offering an almost infinite number of events and fairs are resuming their calendars as normal. Industry, design and art are back in public life, both physicaly and materialy. So, what better than to see, touch, feel and experience?
And although we would love to be at each and every one of these events, we couldn’t miss these three.

Coinciding with Valencia Disseny Week, PerezOchando opened the doors of their studio to show the latest projects they have been working on for the last two years, both in furniture design and in graphic and art direction.
Diwan in its chaise longue and armchair versions were two of the pieces on display in their light-filled workshop. Claudia and Pedro update the shapes of the classic divan with a contemporary variant reduced to the minimum expression. With generous, comfortable seating, this design is chic and versatile.
Located in one of Valencia’s historic areas, we fell in love with the space: a former silk warehouse where many creative people have passed through, including painters, graffiti artists and even an acrobat who left his trapeze behind.

Teklan projecting with Remant and Totem.
Quitessenza, invited us to form part of its stand during the last edition of Cersaie in Bologna. The Italian firm used Teklan’s talent for adding colour to spaces to the full to present its new ceramic tile collections.
The iconic shapes of the Remnant soft seating and the graphic silhouette of Totem stools were selected. A curvy counterpoint which softened the straight lines of the tiles. The contrasts of surfaces and textures were deliberated, the tone-on-tone combinations were delicate. Teklan projected an architectural space in which geometry and colour were the essence.
A thoughtful project, in which the union of traditional design and its contemporary interpretation also demonstrated the importance of synergies between sectors to inspire architects and interior designers.

United by art… and by Link.
Why can’t a seat be a work of art when it is not in use? This was premise when selecting the furniture for the lounge area of the contemporary art fair, SWAB, in Barcelona.
At Sancal we wanted to contribute with our particular vision of how furniture, apart from being functional, can also be artistic. Core sofa and Remnant armchair, together with Loop sofa and Link poufs are perhaps the firms’s most iconic and conceptual products, as they explore design as an artistic discipline.
Without a doubt this space blended easily with national and international gallerists who gathered in the emblematic Mies van der Rohe pavilion to host the fifteenth edition of SWAB.
