Around 40 companies from Sancal’s hometown of Yecla have turned to manufacturing face masks, gowns and shoe coverings in an entirely altruistic act. The project has been promoted by the local technological institute (CETEM) and the district Hospital.
We are contributing to this local initiative by manufacturing thousands of masks for the council.
As with the vast majority of masks, those being manufactured help to slow down contagion by stopping most of the wearer’s saliva from contaminating surfaces. They are not designed to protect the wearer against smaller airborne particles, so they are no substitute for keeping hands clean, social distancing and other measures.
We would like to thank the volunteers from the cutting and sewing sections who have made this possible.
This is how the factory should be right now because Sancal stays at home, but it is active thanks to our supportive volunteers: Merce, María Dolores, Mayte, Mónica, Loli, Feli, Inma, María Luisa and Rosi, as well as José and José Daniel .
