Totem by Sylvain Willenz was honored in the “Contract Tables” category .
Cindy Allen, Interior Design’s editor in chief, announced the winners of the BoY Awards in a virtual ceremony. On this occasion, the Totem family of tables was honored in the “Contract Tables” category.
Sylvain Willenz is behind this design, whose graphic silhouette reveals the industrial designer’s talent for illustration.
Versatile, functional and sculptural. Totem is a balanced and serene design. Its expressive aesthetic emphasizes the decorative nature beyond its core functionality.
The stool was the first piece of the range. However, the evolution of Totem towards a versatile family of tables and occasional tables was logical. The mix of heights and diameters offer a broad range of purposes such as coffee or bedside table, dining table, high cocktail table and even medium height gathering table, which can be accompanied by soft lounge chairs.
Totem joins the list of products recognized by this publication. Remnant, Next Stop, Mullit, Tortuga and Tea are Sancal’s awarded with a BoY in past editions.
Interior Design’s Best of Year Awards recognise the most important work of designers, architects and manufacturers from around the world.
