Coffee, yoga, and Totem for a May morning.
Cinta Arribas, with her precise ink strokes, presents a scene that exudes serenity on a May morning. Enjoying a cup of coffee becomes a quiet pause.
As our protagonist practices their exercises, they pour themselves a steaming cup of coffee. Their face reflects calmness and concentration as their body stretches and strengthens with each movement. The Totem stool, a piece of minimalist design, complements the scene with its serene and functional presence.
Totem marks Sylvain Willenz’s first collaboration with Sancal, and the designer’s style is clearly evident as he formally reduces the archetype of a stool into an object that transcends its function. This design appears sketched on a blank piece of paper, with the designer drawing a straight line and a circle. Its defined, clear, and clean lines go beyond its use as a stool to become a sculptural decorative object.
